Default honda cdi swap

Does any knowledgeable person out there have the wiring diagram for the
cdi/voltage regulator of a trx300ex. Trying to swap that cdi into my trx200sx.
Both have the same number of wires, but the colors seem to be different.
Thanks for any help you can give. The 'why?' can be answered as-'got a good deal for it.'

CDI and voltage regulator are two different units. The voltage reg is back by the battery( with the heat disapation fins), and the cdi is up front by the reverse box, above the shock. Which are you trying to use?

I guess I've never found the CDI-I'm talking about the voltage regulator with the cooling fins and five wires coming out of it back by the battery compartment. Thanks very much for the response. I saw smoke coming from around it last time my son was riding ahead of me and then the starter ceased to work, though you could start it easily by the pull starter(TRX200SX). I got a deal on the TRX300ex regulator, thinking it looked the same, but the wire colors don't match up. This whole 200 is pretty-well a home rigged job, with 300 rear shock and other mods, but it has continued to be a bulletproof workhorse climbing the mountains where we hunt with my 240lb son riding it like a bat-out-of-hell. If I can get more use out of it, I'll donate it to my friends young boy and give the big boy my bigger bike. Sorry, I tend to ramble.

Before Id put a regulator on it, id try to figure out why the last one fried. I would think any year regulator could be wired up to work. You need the schematic from the donor machine, and yours, and match up the wiring.
Dont worry about the rambling...welcome to the forums

Boo-Ya...Need the scematic for these two bikes or instructions from a wise Hondaman. Should I just try to match them up in the same order as the wires exit on both regulators?

Lots of libraries have the service manuals. They should be in the 629 area of non fiction, or just ask the information desk, and if they dont have the one you need, chances are they can get it.
Just match up the 3 wires from the stator, and there should be 2 others. The hondas should use all the same colored wires.

Thanks again for the reply and your help. I'll try the library-never thought of that.
