new tires on my 2004 rancher
#1
i was wondering if anyone could tell me what the biggest set of tires i could put on my 2004 honda rancher es 4x4 without rubbing to much also what other items should i get and where is th best and cheapest place to get them
i was planing on getting a
2" lift kit
a ramsey 2500 winch with wireless
a jet kit / k and n filter
a snorkel kit
and i was between the intraco swamplites or Kenda Executioner
any thing else i should get ?
and if i have stock tires what is the biggest set of tires can you install on them
or is it best to just get new rims and tires
my stock tires are front at 24x8x12
rear at 24x9x11
i used to own a 2006 grizzly 660 camo and i sold it cause i hated it so i recently purchased this quad for $2000 off a friend it has been sitting in his barn it only has 50 miles on it is (he won it in a raffle) it is mint but i was also wondering is their anything else i should do to it since it only has 50 miles on it
i love the deep mud so i need help

People get the Rancher because it has a good price, and it's a great trail machine....but that's all it is is a trail machine. If you try to turn it into a lifted monster mud bogger or something it was never intended to be, you are going to ruin its sweet handling. Just sell it and move up to a bigger machine!

I think the much lower powered 329cc (20hp) Rancher motor will be more of a Factor in your tire size decision. Should of kept the much more powerful 660 (40hp) Grizzly if a monster mud machine is your thing.

My 04 Rancher is pretty much the same set up as your's and I'm running 26x10 front and 26x 12 rear MudLites with no problems. While the tires you mentioned may be the same size they are heavier and may cause some loss of power. I have not noticed any power loss on mine and have not had issues with the mud I have encountered.

I think adding a clutch kit, jet kit, pipe, high-flow filter and a set of 26" tires will work well for you, as they have for me. I'm currently running 26" Mud Bugs and have no problem spinning them. If you will be doing a lot of mud riding, as I assume you will be with adding a snorkel, I suggest adding a Detroit Gearless Locker and a set of Highlifter disc brakes. One good thing about the Ranchers in the mud, is that when they do get stuck, they are much lighter and therefore easier to get unstuck.

The Rancher is 500lbs it would need a winch to get unstuck like a 700lb ATV. I laughed at Utility ATV guys who think weight is a big deal with this machines.
It,s like saying.
"My girlfriend is 500lb so she is more sexy than your girlfriend who is 600lbs." LOL
