i just had a 1996 warrior get stolen.1 month later i got a 07 400ex it does have more power.dont like the front shocks.you will have to jet the 400ex if you get it.mine is so freakin hard to start when cold.but i have got my jet kit and slow jet soit should start and run better.by the way i had my warrior for 6 years and never had a lick of problems with it. besides the usual bearings on a atv.the warrior was a champ!!!

THIS IS A TOPIC THAT GETS BEAT TO DEATH ON THESE FORMS BUT AGAIN THE HONDA 400EX IS A GREAT MACHINE. IS IT BETTER THAN THE WARRIOR YES! BUT THE WARRIOR IS STILL A GOOD MACHINE IN IT OWN RIGHT, IF IT WERE MY MONEY ID PUT IT TOWARDS A SUZUKI 400Z I LIKE THE WATER COOLING IT HAS AND ITS A A BETTER MACHINE FOR THE MONEY, FASTER, BETTER SUSPENSION A MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE MACHINE TO RIDE IN ALL SITUATION KINDA LIKE A RAPTOR 700R!

I have a white 2008 400ex with the redesigned plastic. It is a nice machine, and the only thing wrong with it is the rear skid plate not being aluminum and I jammed an enormous boulder while in 5th gear flying up an eroded road, so it wasn't the quad's fault. I will have to say the 400ex will treat you nicely. And if you're riding on a farm then it'll last forever. I mean, trails like the ones I ride on will bust up anything you ride on it, and the 400ex has held up with absolutely no problems except I'm used to a 250ex with exceptional gas mileage and so on my 400ex I keep running out of gas because I forget that it uses fuel so much faster, but you can feel the power you get from it. It'll last forever, it's rock solid and in my opinion, anything you buy used will in almost no cases be a good choice how I'll admit my 250ex which was worth maybe $800 and it probably needed $1000 in repairs/replacement parts and I was able to rig it up to be sold for $1400 through a quick warm-up and pump-up of the leaking tires and rubbinb motor oil on the plastics and seat. The clutch plates, both rear and front brake pads, handlebars, both brake levers were bent, rear brake cable, shift lever, full front fender, ALL wheel bearings, and probably next was the internal engine components all needed replaced, so I know for almost a fact that anyone who's selling their machine even if it's complete junk will probably be screwing you over unless you drop their price by a grand or two.
my two cents, how it would suck to be the guy who bought my 250ex.

You are coming off an old Warrior, and you need to ask this question???? I rode the Raptor 350 the other day, and it wasn't even one bit better than the pathetic old Warrior I use to ride (before most of the kids in this forum were born!). Yamaha needs to retire this tired old design!!!
Get a 400EX or a Z400....these will at least be a step up!
