Default 400EX in a stepside Ranger?

99 400EX, fit in a 01 Ranger w/ a stepside bed? I will try it before too long BUT it looks kinda tight and I don't want to get it stuck while trying to find out if someone knows for sure. LOL - I am selling my 88 Ranger I used to pick it up with and will need to buy a trailer of some sort if it won't fit. Anyone try it???????

A stepside's bed is no narrower than the wheel wells of a standard Ranger.

Yea it will fit...it will be tight though. I put mine in the back of my explorer sport trac which is just a 4.5ft ranger box. I keep the tailgate down and strap it in. Fits nice and snug...front quad wheels fit perfectly between the truck wheel wells.

99_400ex i don't know about a ranger but try to get an 2006 Arctic Cat 400 FIS Auto fit inside a 1987 Chevy S10 Tahoe longbed flairside , and it's a very tight squeeze the front and rear wheels are wedge between the front and rear tire's were wedged in tight ; so tight once you got it loaded you have to use 4x4 to back it out and down the ramp !

On the 87' Chevy S10 Tahoe Longbed it fit with the tail gate closed , but the box lenth is the same as a short full size short bed ; it just wasn't as wide as the short full size bed !

It's just a few inch's narrower than the full size , i would rather tow it on a trailer because of how narrower ; but once it's in the 1987 Chevy S10 Tahoe Longbed it wouldn't going anywhere so it really didn't need strap's !............

If you have a plastic bedliner, it won't fit. I have a 2001 stepside 4x4 ranger and it's only 42" wide, at the most narrow point. I could be wrong but a 1997 300 ex wouldn't fit in there.

Don't forget aftermarket rims will widen it also. We have a ranger not a step side tho and our EX's would fit. Have to pick front tires up over the finder wells.
