I'm pretty new to quads. I just bought a 400EX with all new plastic from Honda. I was told the plastic alone was about $450. Find out how much it will cost to replace what it needs and add it to the price he's asking for some kind of an idea. I haven't priced many other parts. I think motorsports.com has alot of parts to compare prices on. Hope this helps.

For $450 it just has to run. I sold a rough looking 89 350 4x4 Big Bear with no front brakes and no working electric start (Only pull start) for $2000 Canadian and our dollar is worth the same as a American dollar. Your lucky to get a old ATC 3 wheeler for $450 up here.

I'd buy it. If you don't want to rebuild part it out! You'll be able to at least double you money. But you can rebuild.
I picked up my 250x (same as 300ex just older model with smaller CC's) for a grand. In a little rough shape. Put new plastic $300, front sprocket $40, uni air filter $30, rear brake pads $40. And I have a trail worthy quad ready to go. Much cheaper than new!

For $450 I would exspect it to be in bad shape and if it blew up after one summer I would be ahead of the game for that price. I bought a used 8hp sears snowblower for that much.
