I've been out of the quad seen for a while now and sold my 400ex, now with dune season coming up I'm going to pick up a new 450, I just wasn't sure on the changes with these machines, I'm leaning mostly toward honda because Its honda, But I would like to hear the advantages and disadvantages of going with the yamaha, zuki, or honda, I like how wide the suzuki's sit my buddy has an 06 or 07 and it runs good, But it wasn't the fastest 4wheeler ever.. hows the 08 hondas runs

 

SHORT AND SWEET... rode my first 450 honda yesterday. kinda like the 400ex, but with a lil more umph.

a 450 sucky zuki quad racer was eating me up for lunch when i was on that 450 honda (im no beginner). just gears were just to close together. no top end. out the hole hes gone.

yfz450....what can i say WOW!!!!!!! FAST!!!! but your allways going to turn wrenches. they just rattle apart.

kawasaki? never been on a 450, but look sweet, and herd they run swell!!

I"ve rode the 05 yfz and 05 hondas and 06 suzuki I was mostly interested in the changes for 2008, Yeah yamaha's fall apart but they could of made positive changes over the years, does the honda come w/ a flatslide carb yet? My buddy bought the 08 honda a couple weeks ago but he stripped it down right away to get it ready for the dune season, so neither one of us were able to ride it, Yamaha is looking good on there website I'm going to the dealerships this weekend to get financed

 

The 04/05 Honda 450's are the same and the 06 and later had some changes. Engine is more like the dirt bike, a little wider and a little longer swingarm. An HRC kit will give you the most bang for your buck. They already have lots of low end, and the HRC will give you more middle and top.

The Honda is the king of desert endurance racing, so that's all I ever needed to know when deciding between it and the other 450's!
