dont know what you mean by"unstake" if you mean stripped or to tight then i would use a chisel and a hammer if stripped. or a impact if there too tight.

the nut that holds the whole clutch assembly down is punched in so the nut wont back off how do you get behind it to notch it back out and is the threads standerd or reverse

On my 02 rancher 350 i used a screwdriver on the centrifugal clutch to pry it out and on the second clutch i just used an impact gun to remove it and it had no problem rounding it back out. I didn't think it mattered since you are supposed to replace the nuts. Mine were standard thread.

I usually use a small screwdriver or a real small punch ground flat on the end to unstake the nut. Wedge a piece of aluminum between the gears of the centrifugal and wet clutch to keep them from turning. The nut should break right loose as they are not but 60 foot pounds tightened. Out of hundreds, I have had 2 that the staked nut messed up the threads when removing the nut. Those 2 times I used an impact

i used a penny to hold the gears.
i guess i got lucky with the impact then, my threads were fine until i took it to the honda dealer and had them remove the centrifugal clutch. They messed up the threads when they pulled it since they couldn't find the right puller. I was still able to put the new nut on, it just went a lot harder than it should have.
