If my Recon pops every time I let off the throttle, does that mean it's running rich?

 

check your plug. that will tell you rich or lean. black if rich, white if lean.

 

The pop on throttle letoff is always due to a lean idle circuit.
If youre using blended gas, try using pure gas. If that doesnt cure it, then turn the mixture screw richer (out) about 1/4 turn, and it should go away.
You can verify that its lean...next time before letoff, pull the choke on, and then let off....the pop is gone.
