Don't expect this new Honda to be a world beater, going after any other high performance machines out there. (WHY)

Honda is and always will be worried about product liability law suites, this new 700 class machine will handle good decent performance etc, and that will be it.

Like the 2007 Honda Rincon. Which I own it has a 680CC single overhead cam motor since it was first intoduced back in 2003. Every year I look forward to a bigger motor V-Twin etc it will never happen. Hell even a double overhead cam single would be a great improvement in performance?

Just like their 1000CC sport bike it has never been rated up there with the Suzuki or Kawasaki going after the top speed or most horse power etc.

Honda. Is a quality machine that does it all perfectly, but never expect it to the next biggest thing out there, I/E king of the road or the hill.

Wow, I'm suprised it's actually smaller (shorter and not as wide) than a 450R.

If the tartet market for this machine is big bore utility riders who are looking for something more sporty, why did they put an over square high reving engine in it??? This machine is best suited for rutted trails and rocky semi-technical trails that will take advantage of the IRS. Here, you want low end grunt, not a lot of high end over rev that is going to require a lot of clutch slipping in technical terrain.

There is already some speculation that Honda detuned it on the bottom end to keep folks from wheelieing it out from under them.
