Default 300ex chain keeps getting tight

Got it stuck in some mud/gravel and the chain got in a bind because there was pieces of rock in the front sprocket. I didnt torque it enough to bend anything. the chain will get tight so i will adjust it to the right way but ill ride it around the yard and ill get off and check the travel on it and its too tight again. Anyone have any idea what its doin??

make sure you torque the bolts that lock the carrier in.. almost sounds like its spinning in there and tightening itself up.

yeah thats what i figured at first. ive got the allen bolts locked down good and the lock bolt on it tight. ill probably adjust the chain over again get the manual out and look up the torque specs on em. hopefully it is just the carrier spinnin. Thanks!

Tighten the chain with the rear wheels off the ground and with the suspension unloaded. Leave it slightly looser than usual and then see what you get after riding it. I suspect the chain is damaged and binding in certain areas and therefore giving inaccurate tension,....especially when setting it.
