i have the same problem.damn thing wont go back in but its stupid because u shut the key off and pull it out slitley and let go it goes in on mine.i dont know if it does on yours because mine i bought used and it was a 2004.now i just got a viper winch to mount on it and the damn mount im fabricating and since i bought it the fourwheeler wasnt running right (murphy's law).it stopped running at the bottom of my driveway and so i pulled it behind my house with the tractor to work on it and i got a new spark plug and it ran so i took it on my trail and came back and it ran fine.the day after (today) it ran and i went to wash it and it started and i pulled it out and shut it off and it was running fine.when i went to turn it back on it did the same thing where it would start but id have to keep the choke on when its 75 degrees out and keep on the gas.after that i decided to call naults honda to see what the problem was and they told me to drain the carb so thats what i did and it didnt work. now its in my back yard and i took the battery out to charge it and the spark plug and the brand new spark plug smelt like gas and was just about as black as the old one.does anyone know what the problem might be

Thanks for the help. I was able to fix it last night by removing the plate that holds the spring and cord. all one assembly. Only 3 small bolts. The spring was bound up with rust and mud. I washed it out with water then wd 40 and it started working again.Reassambled and it works fine.

im planning on getting mud lites for my 04 recon but u dont need new rims.if you want to use the stock rims id say to get 25x12-9 it would fit the rim but it would be bigger because the stock tires are 22 x 10-9. The other tire that would be good is a mud bug and those come in the same size as stock.both tires are good for a recon because they are light.im not sure on any others. http://www.maxxis.com/products...duct_detail.asp?id=56

theres a link for mudbugs
