Replacing axle on 250ex?
you can get after market axles for 120.00 Brand new on ebay ..
if theres any play in the axle with it tight
. get a berring and seal kit after you get it apart and see what u have the stock berrings are about 12mm (7/16")wide..and double row berrings are double wide
if theres no play your fine with the old berrings
my 250x has stock size and my 300ex has a lonestar carrier with double row berrings
as for removal ..remove the pin and nut holding the right wheel hub on ,then remove the hub and the rear brake calaper..then the jam nut needs to be fully loosened (I used a pair of pipe wrenches )!! the jam nut has left hand threads!!
with the jam nut loose it will expose a ring that you can get off with some skill and a couple of screw drivers
with the ring removed the jam nut should slide off ,,next the rear brake hub should slide off
now if your chain is off the axle should pull out of the left side of the carrier
ive never had to remove the sproket hub ,but if your new axle dosn't come with one you'll probally need to.and i belive it goes off toward the right end of the axle.
