smoking lots of blue smoke
When u rev it high and let of the gas blue smoke would come out the exaust enough to notice. It has to be bright to see it. This been going on for a while. I take good care of my toys and my friend dont and his atv dosent have any problems wats up.
My friend said that im burning oil how could I.
I check the oil its brownish black 75% brown and 25% black.
My friend said to put thicker oil like 20w50.

Probably bad rings. It happens, just takes one air filter a bit to dirty or not seated properly, could even be crud in a fuel line/carb that trashes 'em.</end quote></div>
How much u think it cost for new rings?

You could always do a compression test and see if it is within specs and after that do a wet compression test and that will let you know where you stand for compression. Are these engines overhead valve design because I was going to say you might have bad valve guides and are allowing oil to get into the cylinder when increasing rpm or increasing atmospheric pressure.

Change the oil and oil fillter making sure you don't overfill it and change the oil with the engine hot , clean and reoil the air filter , check the valves for proper clearance and adjust them if needed , do a spark plug check , the color should be a brownish tan , if it's black/with oil residue the engine is either running rich /and or the ring's are allowing oil to pass the ring's or both ; if the plug is a grey color the engine is running lean but thats not likly with the sytom's you describe !
Get a can of Sea Foam and follow the mixing instruction's for mixing it to your gas and engine crankcase oil , run a tank or two of fuel then change your oil and filter again ; Sea Foam is a great product that will clean the entire fuel system and will also clean the combustion chamber of builtup carbon deposits that can and do cause the valves to gum up and the ring's to stick allowing oil to get past the ring's !
I have used Sea Foam on engine's on both Automotive and motorcycles and atv's with remarkable result's , this stuff saved me from selling a 88' GMC S1500 Jimmy 4x4 MPV that was smoking just as you described for a big loss ; i had to let this Jimmy sit up with a full 21 gallon tank of gas at over $3.00 a gallon i poured a full 16 oz can of Sea Foam in the tank and had 2 of my brother shake the Jimmy for 30 minutes to make sure it was mixed good praying the fuel wouldn't go bad it sit up for over a year and a half while i saving up for parts after it jumped time in my driveway !
And when i finally got the part's , timing chain and gear set i got a good machanic do the repair work ; after he got it finished i had to set the timming with another friend's timing light and adjust the low idle speed to get it running right !
I drove it 25 miles and it started smoking again and i was about to sell it for whatever i could get for it as soon as i got new seal's installed in my 87' Chevy S10 Tahoe pickup truck , the same machanic was putting the seal's in my truck and was going to a take a week longer than he expected ; and i had burned a half tank of the mixed fuel in the Jimmy so i took it and topped off the tank once more with plan's it would be the last time and i had made up my mind as soon as the S10 was fixed i was going to sell it to my brother for whatever he would offer me for the Jimmy !
But when i left the gas station the first traffic light catch me , and when the light changed to go i looked into the driver side mirrow to see the cloud of smoke when i stepped on the throddle ; but this time there was no smoke and it's been smoke free for over a year now and still no smoke !
As it turned out the combustion chamber had so much carbon buildup in the combustion chamber it was causing the ring's to stick after the engine warmed up to normal operating temp's , allowing oil to bypass the oil ring's ; i hate to think of the loss i was willing to take for something a 16 oz can of Sea Foam that cost $6.99 + tax at O'Reillys Auto Parts !
I mix my fuel on a regular basis now with all my fuel both gasoline and Deisel fuel , and it's safe for 2 and 4 stroke engine's and has been on the market since 1942 and is still sold on a " YOUR MONEY'S WORTH OR YOUR MONEY BACK" Guaranttee ; any product that's been around this long and still carries the same Money Back Guarantee has to be a good product to stay on the shelves this long !
I was in the Small Engine Service And Repair Industry for over 20 years before i closed my Shop in late 1997 , and i've never found a better product that does all it claims to do ; so without a doubt i highly reccomend Sea Foam and Deep Creep whitch is the same product only it comes in a spray can !
I would try these thing's first , because $20 to $25 for a new set of rings may sound cheap ; but it's the machine work and labor that will cost you if you're not up to doing your own labor !.....

Check your spark plug like Williebee said - if you are burning oil, you should notice it on the plug - but sometimes if it is not enough oil burning, you won't notice oil on the plug. Then keep an eye on the oil level - if it is slowly dropping level, you are burning oil, just not much yet.
Blue smoke like you are describing can also be an over rich fuel mixture - like your carburetor needle and needle jet may be giving you more fuel at high RPMs than what is required.
