im glad they gave it some attention but i liked it better before; but i remember when it was the 250X which was a better handling bike. plus, it didnt look like everything else in the lineup. but they followed yamaha with this-make everything look like a raptor and call it a raptor-philosophy. of course its not raptor but it does look allot like the rest of the honda sport lineup. im surprised that they didnt redesign the frame as it still uses the square tubing since 1987. if im not mistaken, besides parts of the subframe on the 450 (which is aluminum and the 300 is not), its the only one in the lineup that still uses it.
the only f/up thing with it was the reverse proceedure... so stupid. i hoped they fixed it by now. i liked the the older light better too that turned with the handlebars. fixed lighting isnt always the best...

i was sittin on a 2006 model at a dealership and it took me forever to figure out how to get it in reverse. i finnaly figured it out after like 10 minutes and couldnt figer out how to get it out. i was like wtf? why isnt it like other hondas with the red button or the little switch on the fender?

i dont know. the little red button came out in like '85 on the BigRed trike. May have been before that but i was a littel kid and remeber seeing it on that one first.
why its not used here, i cant recall. the **** on the fender is fine and the little red button idea is not bad either, but to me the best one was on the warrior: from ANY forward gear or neutral, pull in the clutch, reach down on the right side grab the reverse mechanism, pull up and back - you are in reverse. Clutch in, Pull up and forward to go back to forward. simple, effective. yeah i know sometimes you had to rock the quad back & forth a little it to get it to engage, disengage but for the most part you keep it sprayed with wd-40 and it was fine.
of course, if you are in a high forward gear you had to be stopped for it to engage. i dont think anyone is that dumb to attempt to engage it while moving forward. i was stuck going up a sand hill in about 5th one time and once i stopped all my spinning, i put it in reverse and got out of the predicament i was in.
