400ex serial #

i have an engine of of a 400ex and only have the serial #. is there any way to tell the year model with that lilttle info. if so the # is TE23E 8006357
PLEASE HELP

I looked at the link he posted and it looks like a 2003 to me.

The year is the 10th digit in the VIN. The VIN is 17 digits, and your number is kind of to short. Sure you don't just have the serial # off the engine or something??? The VIN is located on a flat crossbar, just behind the front bumper! Find it then got to the chart on the link and look it up.
