I would shoot an offer of $5k, no more than $5400 OTD(out the door). I am a firm believer of never getting extended warranties......your buying a good product why should you need it! Good luck!!

Go to www.yamahadiscountprices.com . These prices are for real and they are out the door totals!! Print the page and take it to your local dealer- ask them to match it. They may not but maybe they'll get close.

I just bought one today. I've been trying for a month to find a deal. Paid 6375.00 out the door. I think a lot depends on demand in your area. I had an out of town dealer on paper deal of 5900.00 out the door, I showed this to 3 local dealers and they all said go get it there, I decided to buy local and this was the best I could do. Also if you are going to finance it through them they won't deal as much. If you can pay cash buy a 2000 model. These guys that want raptors are selling there 400ex's. I saw one in the paper today for 4800.00, I called on it and it was already sold.
I had to pay there price because I'm financing it and I still have to wait a couple of weeks to get it. I added a DMC pipe, K&N filter with pre charger and dino jet kit to the package. They gave me a good break on that and I got to finance that also.

Thats how it works. Supply and demand......but there should be no shortage of 400EX's. I wish you lived closer so I could get you a better price. I bought mine in Dec. for $5500 OTD W/helmet and some other goodies. I'd shoot them the $4999 and see if they bite....if not, be patient.

Hey stony. Try Champion Honda in Mesa, AZ. My brother-in-law was going to get a red one for right under 5500 OTD right before Christmas. They had a ton of the yellow ones in stock, but he wanted a red one. They took too long and he finally decided to wait on it when they finally called him to let him know that it was in. I briefly looked in a Cycle Trader about a week ago and say that one place had them for about 5550 OTD. I would think that would be about right here in Arizona. I sure would not pay more that 5700. That place that has them for 4999 shipped to your door would be interesting to check out. Just make sure that a title comes with it and not a bill of sale or you will have to pay about $400 for sales tax when you go to the MDV for a title. Hope this info helps. Good luck. I have a buddy selling a used one with a trailer. He is asking 5600 for both. I would think though you would be more interested in a new one. Just a little side note!?

Check out http://www.hondadiscountprices.com $4999.99 out the door!! The only problem it is in Mississippi. My friend is on his way as we speak. They are getting a 400EX and Raptor. The Raptor price is not as impressive. $6499 out the door.

We will see if they get jerked around..
