Hard to start.....
#1
I have an '06 Rancher. When I took it out of heated storage a couple of days ago it seemed to have a dead battery when I tried to use the electric start. When I tried to start it with the pull rope it wouldn't budge initially. A couple of firm tugs and I was able to pull it through the compression stroke. After that it seemed to start and run fine using the electric start. The next day however it did the same thing. Any ideas what may be causing this? The oil looks fine and it sounds good - no knocking. Could something be bent and binding up?

^^agreed^^
Charge the batter for 6-8 hours slowly before you try anything else. If it was in storage, is most likely completly dead, driving it won't charge it correctly and even then it might be toast anyway.
