1.Do not attempt to take off the head pipe
2.If you take off the racks make sure to have something supporting the fenders
3.watch those stupid plastic rivits
4.get rid of those cheesy bars
5.if you know were I can get a web cam for a recon tell me !

Actually i think the bars are awesome .. I rolled mine so many times and i never bent them. I took my head pipe off once (to clean it runs great then) and i snapped the stud now there is only one nut holding it. Them plastic rivets really blow they are cheap and crappy. That is about it .. And i always have problems with bearings ... I wish they made a completly sealed bearings.

On my Recon I think I have to Change my swing arm bearings because when you grab a hold of the rear racks and move the bike from side to side the swingarm makes a clicking noise an dmoves by itself.
The rest of my bearings are fine I have never had to change them

Ive had to replace the Swing Arm bearings and Btoh front wheel bearings, Axle BEarings Btoh sides. Thats about it .. for some reason when you goto put that Brass seal on the left side of the axle to seal it more it never stays on , on mine it pops out and the bearings will be going out pretty soon. It isnt fun replacing them Swing Arm bearings same with the Axle ones. If your Swingarm Bearings are going out, replace them as soon as possible. I waited a while and it like bent it out or something and it was a bitch putting it back together casue it is bent and will never be right again.

I have problems with my clutch sometime. Sometime it doesnt go completely in gear and it acts like it is in neutral, then it starts to go in gear and the shifter rattles up and down really bad. My recon does great in the snow. I can tell it is hard on it though because the motor revs really high, but if I shift up the motor bogs down.

Yeah my Recon also does not fare to well in the snow. It just seems like it wanders a lot. It was better when I changed the front tires on mine to my dads Kenda tires, I think they are called pro Trax or pro max I forget. It held its line a lot better. but the Maxxis Sur traks are poop for soft snow because if you get stuck and you hit the gas you just dig a hole! they have a little too much bite for snow.
I still love my Recon though. (too bad I live in Canada)
