Default 1983 Honda 200 Big Red oil pump cup help....

I just had a question about the oil pump agitator on this engine. It has 2 washers on it, a silver one and a black one that has a pattern on the inside edge of it. I put it back together with the black one on the outside, the silver inside. Now my mind is questioning the way I reassembled it. Did I do it roght, or should the black washer go inside of the agitator?

I thought it was the oil pump...........

It is in my manual, and it says to inspect and clean every 30 riding days. You take the right side engine cover off, and its the round part that sticks out the farthest, I believe the clutch pack is behind it and to the left. It has 3 bolts in it, you take it off and there is 3 channels in it to clean out. Boy, it was a damn mess. It was prolly never taken off to clean..... I'll go outside and get the manual so I can identify the part, but it dosen't show how the washers go back onto it.

The silver washer is the bigger one, it is prolly 3.5 inches across. The black one is smaller (maybe 2.5 inches across) and has like 12 teeth around the inside edge, like 6 pairs of 2 evenly spaces. It is part of the oil filter rotor. If I take the rotor and the 2 washers off, there is a shaft with a long spring that is wound around inside. The best way I can describe it is the clutch pack is in the upper left, the clutch adjuster (triangle) is in the lower left, and the part I'm talking about is in the right hand side of the engine (where the rubber Honda logo is on the right hand side of the engine case). Just worried I put it back together wrong.....

Thanks for the great info everyone. 86 TRX, you were right. The schematic of the expanded clutch was very helpful. That's the way I put it back together. Again, thank you all very much.
