I would'nt suggest the suzuki. It's to wide and with 18" rims does not have the clearance for trail riding. They are all about equivalent except for a few main differences. Like the suzuki stuff listed above and I believe Kawi has reverse which is good. From there it's whichever YOU want man.

I picked the Honda because it is king of desert endrance racing, like Baja and Vegas to Reno....you know, start it up an ride 1000 mile non-stop. If you don't show up on the Honda, you probably won't even finish the race, much less win! This machine can go the distance...that's all I ever needed to know!
Of the 450's, I like the KFX most for the trail, but none of the 450's with their screaming high RPM engines make good trail quads anyway. For the track, the LTZ. For all-around, the Honda or maybe the Yamaha.

I dunno the guy I go trail riding with has a ltz and he loves it. He doesn't race it on the track or anything like that he is just a trail and dune guy. He hasn't had any problems with clearance or width. Reverse isn't all that necessary either, I have a cannondale with no reverse and I have never really needed it that bad and most the other guys I ride with dont have it and haven't really needed it, so I wouldn't worry about whether it has reverse or not, just don't count the ltz out because its lower and wider because its still a great trail quad and its one of my favs, it just means you can take the corners faster lol

O ya, I'm not sayn it's a bad ride by any means. It's a mean lookn' quad. I agree that reverse isn't that big of a deal but, boy is it nice when you have it. If I was lookn' for a 450 to trail ride it would be my last pick tho simply because the clearance. My yfz had 18's on it when I bought it. They were gone within 3 rides. Sure, depends on your trails but, guarentee no way a that ltz would cut it on the trails I ride. I bet wouldn't cut it on most trails.

I think all the 450's are pretty good, the suzuki is wide and the 18 tires suck, but you can change that. I have a 400ex and Honda 450r,once I changed the gearing the 450r works well in the woods. Isnt it nice to have so many choices,it wasnt that long ago, if you wanted a sport quad there wasnt much out there.

I have ridden Honda and Yamaha, and have ridden with Suzuki, Kawasaki, and a few others. After years of seeing ATVs come and go, I have to say that Yamaha is king in my book, followed by Honda, and then Suzuki. Every Honda ATV I have ever seen or ridden, has burned oil after a few years of regular riding, but they're solid aside from that. Yamaha however, has been godly and never had a lick of trouble, even when ragged on constantly. Suzuki used to be crap compared to the local Yamaha and Honda ATVs, but they're newer stuff seems nice.

Read this post, it says "you want a raptor 700."
I have a 400ex, a trx 450 and a raptor 700. The Yammi will be my only quad soon.

700 is huge. I prefer 400 and below because once you go above a certain size, you lose the ability to control the vehicle easily, and it's heavier. The larger they get, the fewer places they can go due to turning radius increases and the weight of the machine. Oh, and they're generally wider. Not that they're bad machines, I just had to put in my two-cents on such massive quads.
