I have been thinking about trying to widen the front of my 300, I know you can get longer A-arms but that seems a little expensive. I was thinking about wheel spacers but I was wondering if it was worth it??? I have also considered flipping the wheels inside out but I am not sure that is a good idea???

Please help with any advice or info you can give me.

Thanks

this has been covered a lot

wheel spacers and flipping your rims causes horrible bump steer..and puts more pressure on spindles

click my link for a cheap way to get a wider front end..and better shocks..its under 500

click the 400ex shock and a-arm conversion on my page

I made my wider by putting a durablue front lowering brackets. It lowers it by making the a-arms point straight out. So in turn it's lower and wider.

I have a question. Now that it is done, did you notice whether or not you could have used the stock frame points? What I mean is, are the frame mounts lined up with the 400ex lower shock mount or do you have to move the upper back and up in order for it to be parallel with the lower. I ask because I have a 400 and a 300 and I have 400ex parts but I don't necessarily want to redo the frame if I can just use the 300ex shocks and just go wider with the 400 arms.

flip the wheels.... it cost like $2.00 ( new valve stems) it helped the handling a ton.... not sure about the bump steer stuff but steer as good as stock.... people say it will break your spindles and wear out you bearings......I'v done over 10ft high jumps and still haven't broken anything....I dunno how it would do with stock shocks but it is fine with my works....might wanna think about that.... later

the 300 ex shock is too short(would be a good set-up for running TT though) and the 4ooex shock is too long for using the stock mounts on the X frame.
You could call Works and have the make you a set of front shocks that you dont need to change anything with and they are about $320 shipped to your door(dual rate /o res.).
That is the way I went and those shocks ride a lot nicer than stock!!!

you have to cut the entire stock shock mount out and weld in the new one.

The ATV racing kit comes with a jig.

its not that big of a deal. Just have to use common sense, and have a steady hand
