Hi I replaced the sprag bearing and have it all back together and I can't get it to start . My brother fried the starter and a new one is on its way but I keep kicking kicking it over and nothing. It sounds like it wants to start but doesn't I have good gas and good spark. any ideas ????

 

well since one wants 2 to help I guess its for sale I will go back to riding a dirtbike

 

Which sprag did you change ..?.. There is 1 in the flywheel and there's 1 in the centrifugal clutch ..?.. If it was the flywheel 1 it's possible the flywheel key could have came out .. If you changed the sprag in the centrifugal clutch there's no reason the bike shouldn't start , the only wires you needed to disconnect are the "N" "R" & temp sensor ..

 

could it be the decompression thingy, I think it only comes into play when the kick start is used????

 

I have an 86 that starts the first time everytime, with the electric strarter. I actually tried kick starting it a few days ago, I rolled it over 6 or 7 times and didn't even get a hint of combustion. I hit the start button for a nano second and it started right up. I wouldn't get rid of a bike just because the kick starter wont get it going.

 

the sprag I changed was on the clutch the decompression valve works fine and I just had a bad day and I'm not going to sale it. I will just what for the starter to come in and hopefully be riding thanks for the input.
