250 fourtrax overheating

Default 250 fourtrax overheating

my 85 honda is overheating not to the point my oil temp light goes on but enough
to let you know it will burn your legs (happend once or twice) is there a way to cool it down?

Default 250 fourtrax overheating

Lower octane gas.
Check timing, Slow timeing causes excess heat.
Increase All jet sizes 2 points. More fuel will help cool the engine down...
Wrap up your header pipe and silencer. increased scavaging will pull more air through the engine increasing VE, thus helping to cool the engine some..
A oil cooler...

All of teh above is what I amd currently doing to my 300ex. so far biggest drop in temps have come from lower octane gas and wrapping the header... Have yet to rejet. but im confident it will drop a good amount of heat..
