Alright. Got this bike on trade. Carbs are clean and no rust in tank. It usually kick starts first kick. You take off and most of the time it surges. Like you can be pressing the throttle and it'll goo..miss...gooo...miss and so on. every once in a blue moon it'll just shoot out right away. After a minute of running it seems to loss all power and kill...most of the time not wanting to start anymore.

ALSO

When running you can hear a "tink" noise near where the plug goes on the top end. Sounds kinda like the piston is tapping something cause it does speed up and slow down with throttle.

The bike does not smoke like rings would be bad. It has a fatty pipe that is VERY loud doubt it matters just saying everything I know. I do know know what is going on and even if both problems are even connected. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

 

sounds like a problem i had on mine go,slow,go,slow all the way mine is a 1985 fourtrax 250 my prob was vapor lock drilled a hole in gas cap and is a real beast now so maybe you have the same prob.Hope this help never like to see a felow
