Default thinkin motor swap for my 400ex

you guys think a 450r motor and trans would mount up to an 08 400ex frame? if not what do you think about a bore kit i hear 440 has gasket probs but what about something smaller like a 416 or even a lil bigger?

im sure a 416 would be mint, the money to get a 450r in there would cost the same as a 450r...

Hi

I've done the 440 kit and indeed they have gasket probs, but then again, not all of them.

the 440 has way more power then stock, plus a whole lot more torke, but I've seen well done 426's beating 440's.

so i think the 426 is the way to go. just my 2 cent!

Unless you *like* to do that kind of fabbing you might be better off money-wise to buy a 450r than modifying everything you would have to modify for a swap.

Just my opinion. You follow your dreams.
