02' honda rubicon 500
a friend at work son has one of these w/ the ele shift and ever since he had someone rebuild it for him(non dealer) it now wont electronical shift but will w/ the foot shifter. any idears on where he can look? dont know if theres any certain wires or what have you got over looked.

You will have to find out what make/model & year it is ...
The Rubicon has no foot shifter or emergency foot shifter , On a Rubicon if the ECM detects a problem it will automatically go into fail-safe mode which is 2nd gear so you can drive slowly home/to the truck etc ...
A 2002-04 TRX450FE Foreman will use the gear position indicator to flash a problem code .. 1998-01 TRX450ES didn't use trouble codes .. The TRX450 & TRX350 had a back-up emergency shifter ..
The 2003-06 TRX350FE also flashed a trouble code for ESP problems .. 2000-02 TRX350FE didn't use trouble codes , you had to follow the trouble shooting flowchart to find the problem..
