too many miles?

THats only 500 miles a year, not a big deal. Before you buy, shake each wheel to check the bearings, some may need to be replaced, and support the bike on a stand under hte engine and shake the rear end side to side to check for play at the swing arm bearings.
Other then that give the bike a good look over, look for oil leaks, torn CV joint boots (torn boots mean damaged expensive CV joints).

Mine is an 01, and I shudder to think of what the mileage is on it. Never even had a minor problem with it!
The one you are looking at is obviously an ES, or it wouldnt' have a odometer. Be aware that the ES system can be problematic. Fair number of problem posts in here....
Get a Warn 424, it's the best mod you can make to this machine!

....but, I am diligent about maintenance (air filters, valve adjustments, etc.), and always run ultra high tech ester synthetic oil!
Who knows, the previous owner could have been a total bozo and never did any maintenance (????).

If you bought new you will be at 1900 miles in no time. For the Price of ATVs they better run 6000 miles relatively trouble free or it would be one stupid expensive sport to get into for $6000-$9000.
