Honda 440ex

You can get ready to bolt on 440 kits off ebay. The bigger studs are used because there is more displacement than a stock motor, so you have more pressure. Scoops don't do anything if you're stopped or slow. You can get bigger oil tanks and coolers to help move the heat around. I would look into a 416 or 426 depending on what you are doing with it.

I would be careful with getting a bike that is already at 440. It might be sound, might not be. And after 440 there's no place to go. How much is it? That type of engine mod is something I would want to do (or have done) myself. Just my opinion. If you look around you'll find some pissed 440 owners and some happy ones. Quality craftsmanship is the difference, and you won't know if you got it unless you do it yourself (or pick a good person to do it).

hey man look into a cool kit for the 400ex. when i had my 440 I put one in and I didnt get anymore blow head gaskets and I got a jump in performance. the kit involves tapping ports in the clutch cover and other various places to hook up to the new over sized oil cooler(which is included in the package). hoped I helped.
