Just signed up as well. Have a 400EX that hasn't been ridden in almost 4 years due to deployments for the military... Going to go through rework it this spring when I get home and get the beast up and running again

I actualy just bouhgt my 400ex last week. It is a 2000, all stock. Runs like a scalded dog. we have had it out several times and ran the piss out of it to see if she was 100%. So far so good no issues.
The poor guy was going through a foreclosure and had to dump it. I felt bad, but hey, ya win some and ya loose some. |

Yes Welcome! The old 400EX's are pretty much bullet proof and there is quite a few mods that can be done to it as well!

Thank you all for the welcome.
A friend of mine had a 1999 400ex, he said the same thing about them being pretty much bullet proof, that is the reaason I bought mine. His had a white brothers pipe, and a rev kit. Said his had a bit more SNAP than mine. Is the slip on pipe and rev kit really worth cost? All we really do is trail ride. His theory, " there is something about being able to lift the front end in any gear, and being able to run 70MPH." |

Throw the on the slip on and rejet is a world of difference. I wouldn't do the rev box. 400ex will rev plenty high without the box. Instead save for a fmf powerbomb header and new filter.

I have the K&N filter already. How dificult is it to rejet?
