i have an 87 250x...i bought it and the motor was apart i have a guy building the motor but he said the transmission is messed up and it doesnt want to go into neutral to put the piston in the jug...and suggestions on what i should do? ebay it or fix it? please let me know

 

Were the cases split when you bought it because it sounds like the transmission isn't assembled right.. If you decide to fix it I can email you the transmission section from the Honda 1987-88 TRX250X PDF shop manual ..

 

yes they were...the only thing i had 2 do was put the cases on and assemble the top end and throw it in the bike...

 

IF U AINT GOT NETREUL u probably got something backward behind clutch basket

 

i didnt build the bottom end so i have no idea

 

Is there no chance a gear or 2 could have came/fell off the main or counter shaft and was put back on backwards or something..

 

i have no clue...i didnt build the bottom end the guy i bought it off of he did all that...thats what i think is that maybe something is bent or just a ***** hair off and its not letting it go into gear
