Why can`t I find a cdi box for my fourtrax? all I can find is the one for 88-93 and 94-97.nowhere can I find one for 98-2000. Any1 got any answers? (honda mechanic?)

this is what ronayers.com has too, but my cdi only has one plug w/ 8 pins w/ the plug in being on top. I`ve looked for three days online and can`t even find a picture of it. I`m confused to say the least. maybe I have the wrong one to begin with? but my harness doesn`t seem to be spliced or anything. Help!

 

The TRX350 uses an 8 pin (gray) single coupler on the ICM that plugs in on top

98-2000 trx300 fourtrax`s had a 8 pin single plug cdi box. I just bought one on ebay.hondamech, You are right, they also came out with 2 plug cdi`s also. I was told mine had the single 8-pin plug because the cooling fan circuit was inegrated into it. could this be right?

 

Hey, I got the same problem with the cdi. I got the 8 pin cdi and the parts guy at my local dealer are useless... did you get a part # with the one you got? Or do you kno where i can get one.

johnson`s atv ebay store has a retrofit kit that plugs into the 8pin plug and uses the older style cdi for around $160. Hope this helps.

 

We are a atv repair shop and had ran into this same problem so i gambled and got a 1998 honda 350 rancher cdi , plugged right in and bike fired right up. the rancher 350 is like said above with the 8 pin single plug .. no need to by a adapter or split your harness... and it works on the 98 to 2000 fourtrax to fix your bikes...
