a couple guy is tryin to trade me preds for my 400ex that i just bored , i was lookin for any info on how they run compared to a 450r , another guy is offerin a 660 rappy & thats more what im lookin for , i just want more power and love to hear more bout them

 

First, why are you wanting out of the 400ex? Second, It kind of depends what year the preddys are. Pre 2005 had trannies that were hard to shift, which resulted in mis-shifting, and they had no reverse. That was really their only weak link. Otherwise, preddys are a pretty solid atv with plenty of power to be had with some easy modifications. You said someone is offering you a raptor 660, which is a good atv as well, depending on what you plan to do with it. I guess it really depends what you are looking for? We need more info....

 

i mostly trail ride , i like my ex but was wantin more power and was lookin for a 450r or another 450 class sport bike ,one of the preds said he had some problem with 1st gear and i really dont want to start off splittin the case , the other one needs a timing chain , but on the rappyi know that the early ones was bad for the starter gear to go out , im just tryin to decide n case i cant trade for a 450r

 

I would lean toward the raptor for trail riding, personally. I think the 450r is more of a freestyle ride. The rappy is a great trail riding atv as they have a tremendous amount of low end torque. I had an 02 but didn't like it, it was very top heavy. But, the newer ones are much improved!

 

this rappy is a 03 and i thought they r top heavy compared to my ex , so u dont think the pred would b a good trade for my ex, i love the way my ex rides & handles , but i get i pegged and want more power all round top & bottom

 

well the preddy will be much more power, especially top end. Bottom end comes around with a full exhaust and intake. I'm not sure if it is a good trade considering the condition it is in. Not sure why someone would trade a preddy for an ex in my opinion!

 

well im throwin n a old boat to , it aint that we were swappin bike even , but i dont no anything bout them , or ever seen one up close but ive rode some rappys and liked the power , i also like the yfz 450 but aint had any offers on one of them
