Default Terracross vs. Bighorn

I'm in Missouri. I do an even mix of dirt trail, pasture, and pavement from one farm to the next. So looking for good traction, but a long wear life as well - for the road. I also use this particular ATV for snow plow duty in the winter.

Same as Tramp, I like the looks of the TerraCross better, but function over looks in my book. I can get a set of 4 TerraCross for $420 or a set of 4 Bighorns for $400. So close in price, just trying to find out which is more liked - personal experience, not I've hear this. So all input is great.

Just curious how is that pricing from what you guys have seen?

another tire to throw in the mix is a duro powergrip radial, which is the same exact tread pattern as the maxxis bighorn, with a flatter width, for more ground contact and priced at 279.00 shipped to your door. these tires are hard to beat for the money, ive had mine for a year, they work flawless, they give you a better ride, traction, take the bump steer out.

One tire that ATV television did a test with is the Carlile ACT and according to them they outperformed both of thes tires mentioned esp in the mud and snow JFYI I personally like the Bighorns as they last very well in the rocks and hardpack!

25" ITP TerraCross on ITP steel wheels. I now have about 500 miles on them with no complaints.

Yep, the ACT Radial was on my short list, but it's hard to find, especially in a package deal with wheels. Plus, it's expensive. I'm still considering them.

Just looked at the Carlisle ACT. Looks good. Found them for about $80 each.

Forgot to mention I also have a 10% off coupon on the Terra Cross and Bighorns, so the price would be more like $378 and $360 respectively. Seems like a good deal?

I bought my TerraCross radials just one month before ITP came out with the new 'beefed-up sidewalls' TerraCross tire.

I have yet to read or hear anyone comment on whether or not there is a handling difference with the new tire.

Price wise, it is worthwhile to check rockymountain, at least as a benchmark.

the Carlisle ACT's are the same as the stock Polaris PXT's in case you didn;t realize that
they just call them Polaris Xtreme Tire instead of Carlisle's All Condition Tire

Bought the Maxxis Bighorns after researching and looking for the past few days. The lowest price I finally found was all 4 tires for $332 shipped. If the place would have taken PayPal I had an additional 10% off coupon so it would have been $299 shipped! Oh well, I feel good about $332 compared to local places around me.
