Default adapting Trans cooler/egine oil cooler from truck to rubie !

I was looking to improve my oil cooling system on Blue Rubie, I been looking at a trans cooler i bought .

I think it can be adapted to the oil lines on my rubicon for increased capcity and high effiency cooling. . . so it'll hold more oil at a lower temp which will extend both the life of the oil and machine. . .

I think this is going to be this winters project ? unless you know of a better way to do the same out come ?

that might work good as well ! it would be better if a could use stock cooler that mounted right bolted together than if i had issues later i could just get new replacment part instaed of try to remeber how custom made what part from where. . . i'll check into that. . .

Keep in mind, if its a Hondamatic Rubicon, the oil pressure will be over 110psi above 5000rpm. That's close to double the PSI of a full sized truck motor. Don't go cheap on the clamps/oil lines.

Also, I wonder if you could end up with oil that never gets up to optimal temp...

Anywho I haven't had any trouble using them in the past ! I think the cooler will handle the psi fine as for the lines I would be using EFI clamps !

I dont know of an EFI system that runs 110psi I would be very careful with that kind of presure. And my ford ranger maxes at 60psi lol that is a ford for you well that is when it is running, witch is rarely.

blue rubie...on the cooler you have ,do the intake and outlet both come from the same side?? If so mount it so both lines come from the top of the cooler then prefill the cooler with oil before connecting the lines ..this should make the time it takes for ur oil to reach the topend close to normal.....(feel free to comment on this)

Yea they do ! It looks to be about the same spacing ! As the stock cooler ! I'm so it holds more oil its just better spacing in the tubes for better or more effective cooling it prolly holds half qt of oil ! But instead of .5qts over 1/3 of radiator size its the same size as the radiator ! So about the same amount of oil twice the air flow ! Which should help cool the radiator its self some !

I'm getting excited to see how it works .
