Hello guy's,I'm thinking ofn buying some hand warmers for my wife's atv for christmas..She rides a 2008 420 rancher and loves it.My question is where would the best place to tie the power wire into,I know I want it to loose power when the key is off but other than that where would the best tie in be ?? Help please,thank-you

 

Does the Rancher have a cigarette lighter type power plug?

If so, I like to tap that for other accessories, since it is fused, non-critical, and usually easy to access. I'd use solder and shrink tubing rather than those snap on taps, so your connection won't corrode or pull apart.

 

We also use the accessory wires for hand and/or thumb warmers , but if you install both you should bump the fuse from a 10A to a 15A .. If the asccessory plug (option) isn't installed the accessory wires (W/BL & G) are still taped to the frame ..

 

i have the moose heated grips and the controller has 2 more accessory plugs for other stuff like heated seat pad heated vest

The wires you guy's are talking about for the accessory plug (which this bike does not have ) are they under the gas tank or where would I be able to find them ??

 

i think the wire you are looking for is under the right front fender (if you are sitting on the machine). if you look under the fender you will see a wire that is capped off.

yes this plug is for the factory ac socket from honda

 

also aftermarket plugs do not hold up and you will blow a lot of fuses ......the factory honda plug is like $39 but its worth it if you want it to work when you need it
