if you put in a clutch kit that is the main reason why your 400ex is slow. oil in the intake is probly valve seats or gaskets, bad valve seats are cronic on the 400ex's. with a clutch kit youll wana rejet your main, and locate and dial up your pilot jet, but not much. mabe 1/4 to 1/2 turn out on the pilot.

when you put on the clutch kit, you will have to tinker with jets if you want more power.

just to let you know, if your starting out slower you probly got a diffirent, higher ratio, clutch kit. so your top speed will be improved. jetting may or may not improve your starting speed, its all in the gearing

Dude I'm not trying to be a teacher or anything, I want to help you but, I'm having serious problems understanding what your saying. Try to use some punctuation and stop the run-on sentences, others will then help also.

Alright i took my carb apart and tuned my pilot jet. i turned it 1/2 loosening it. i put the carb back on the bike, and now it just wont start. is it normal if your bike doesnt start so quick after taking it apart. i put put everything back together how it came and my starter almost gave out from trying so much. WHATS WRONG WITH MY 400 ITS A 2003 AND HAS LOW MILES. IT WAS WORKING FINE UNTIL I INSTALLED THIS HIGH PERFORMNCE CLUTCH! the clutch isnt the problem tho now the bike wont even start. can any one help??

It shouldn't take long to start. As long as the fuel is turned on it should fill the carb in a couple cranks of the engine. If it ran before you took the carb apart I would remove it again and double check everything.
