02 Honda Recon 250
#1
My son has a 02 Recon and our family loves at it to dead.
My son is going to move on to either a 400ex or 400z. We want to keep the recon in the family but what can we do to step up the performance alittle? What mod would have the most impact for the investment? Thanks

jet kit and aftermarket air filter. like $60 for a jet kit and $30-$40 for a good filter. the handa exhaust has baffels instead of packing, so the stock pipe can handel quite a bit of jetting.

UNI foam air filter, FMF PowerCore 4 muffler, and of course a rejet.
Are you in the wet a lot??? If so, probably not worth opening up the airbox (the little 250 can only handle so much air anyway!). But, you do probably want to open up the opening at the end of the snorkle, which stock isn't much bigger than a quarter....

if you want to spend less than $100, dyno jet kit and UNI filter. this is IMO best abg for the buck, without a pipe or snorkel that is.
http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/home.do <-- they will have a jet kit and UNI filter.
i dont use or like k&n filters, for me they let in too many large particles of dirt ect. true, they have the highest inital air flow. but they also let in larger particles of trash to achieve the higher air flow. but your choice on which filter
good luck
