honda 300 backlash in rearend

Default honda 300 backlash in rearend

does anyone know how to set tha backlash in tha rearend of a 97 fourtrax? and one other thing has anyone had tha problem of this bike eating bearings in tha rearend?

iv never heard of the trx300 series "eating" bearings. if its in the rear end i would say your axel is bent.

they came with the bike when i got it. but ride with a couple people who have stock foremans, i would deffinally buy them! same suspention travel and better profile IMO. gave me 2" of lift over stock, and you still cant tip this thing over!!!

im actually looking for a trx300, i would love to mod one! HL springs some agressive 26" tires and a jet kit. mabe a mild clutch kit too. i like to put big ideas into small mechines. there something you dont see every day

that would be kool i love my bike im ordering those springs tom. just wanted to make sure it was worth it im workin on makin it a little mud monster we got a big ride comin up and if i got her ready i wanna take it instead of my grizzly 660 i got 26'' mud machines 3'' lift, ITP rims, jet kit and warn 3000

I don't know the specs but you set the backlash with different thickness spacers on the axle shaft to move the ring gear closer to the pinion gear. Check out bikebandit.com. They show 25 different spacers for you bike.

There are 23 different shims to set the ring gear side clearance & 7 different pinion shims to set tooth contact ..
