when taking the top end of an engine apart, you gotta be really careful man. the piston is not hard to find man,how old is your ex. and do like ranger says and GET A MANUAL, without it you wont have any specs or know compression and consumption rate, stuff like that.

You know, there are some simple tests you can do to diagnose bad rings! Compression, and a leak down test.
Yesterday, you had to ask what rings are, so I don't think you are exactly qualified to do a rebuild at this point. What if the rings are fine and its the cylinder wall that's worn???? Lots of issues like that involved!
