Default 300 ex mods

Im starting to do work on a 97 300ex what are some good mods to get more power out of it ? everything is stock on it but the dg exhaust and the k-n air filter. i would like anything from gears changes to jeting or new exhaust. thanks

jetting would probaly be a good start and help balance the air fuel mixture ,that the aftermarket pipe and air filter change by allowing more air flow...as far as gears go they kinda depend on what kind of riding you do .....im running 14/40 front and rear sprokets on my 98 300ex..it also has a dg exaust and a uni filter...there are better tuned exaust systems on the market than dg but expect to pay more...you can pick up some jet kits from rockymtatvmc...deniskirk..or even ebay pretty cheap ,and getting your mixture correct will prolong the life of the motor.....some other engine mods you can consider ....modified cdi box giving you plus 1000 rpm's ..or more....aftermarket cams....330 big bore kit....elderbrock carb...

Thanks for the info what would be a good size jet to start with i have never done any jetting

call DG, they will help i believe, just tell them what you have done and ask what the jetting specs should be.
