IMO they have a very distinct and sweet sound for ATV's. My full RS3 system added a really nice bit of low end torque and very noticeable hp gain in the mid to upper rpm range. Second to none quality. No bracket welded to the pipe and bolted to the ATV frame. On an ATV that type of cheap mounting is very prone to breakage due to the bracket flexing on rough terrain. I'm pretty sure it's LEXX that copied this design.
good to know. i always liked yoshie on my street bike but never thought of the dirt. thanks for the info!!

I'm not sure but I believe LEXX copied Yoshimura with the clamp that goes around the can insulated with rubber. This allows the vibration to be absorbed. The type of mufflers that have the welded bracket is a very bad design and a prone to breakage from movement and vibration. It's not a bad thing to copy someone else in this area.

okay...just got the lexx mxe exhaust and its built real well.. sprayedgt..u were right. its built just like the yoshi..compared it to my buddys yoshi on his 2008 400ex and i gotta say the lexx mxe is better in design..of cousre this is me purley eyeballin his vs mine. glad i went with the lexx. for a yoshi replica ( lol) im pleased i payed half of what he did with the same results as yoshi.....one more thing..lexx has its own unique sound(pretty sweet). now i just gotta see how long it lasts vs the yoshi and how long before repacks....let ya know soon.

I dont mean to cut on you guys who are buying the full system exhaust...right out of the factory 400ex has a big enough head pipe and your not gonna gain hardly any power with a full system unless you put oversized valves in and have some extreme head port and polish..so all you guys looking for an exhaust..slip on unless major motor work...got some forsale also

Its called planning for future mods. Why not just go ahead and spend the money, use the full system now and you'll have it for when you do go into the engine. There is a gain from a full exhaust over a slip on. It's usually just 1hp, but every bit helps. The factory head pipe is not stepped pipe, most of the full exhaust systems have a stepped header, which build torque.

I hear what your saying...and the torque difference isnt hardly noticable..Ive been racing quads for many years and work in a automotive shop with race car motors...I know its gonna make a lil differnce but not your moneys with...with the new technology coming out every few months..there will be something new and better so its almost a waste of money for the average person who wants there quad to sound beafy...for the average cat who isnt real experienced..a slip-on is perfect..but for others who are gonna major port polish or head shaved...and oversized valves like I did..yes the full system is the way to go

Yes I agree. Some people just want the sound, but the true gear heads want every last drop of performance they can get. I had my '08 for 1 day and already had the mods in my sig on it. All of the parts were in my garage before the quad was. On the dyno the full system made 5.6 more hp than stock. I know technology changes all the time. That's why a well build, and well though out 426 can out do a 440 now. I'm using every single bit of technology I've used in my Mustang drag car and my Supra (dry film lubricants, heat dispersants, thermal barriers) to free up anything and everything I can.
