250r vs. 400ex????
The 250R will be a "project quad", given its advanced age. Use to be that there was a huge aftermarket for this model, but I don't know if it still exists. I do know you can't even get a crate engine from Honda anymore.
The EX is a solid machine, that will last forever with just basic maintenance.
So, if you want to do lots of wrenching get the R. If you want to do lots of riding, then the EX.
The EX is a great trial quad, because the engine will lug down. The R being a 2-stroke, likes to be reved more, so you may need to do some clutch slipping on a tight trail.

i like em all....juist depends on your riding style and how much you enjoy rebulding.....I juist got back from busco beach (a huge atv park in N.C.) and was on the drag strip lined up against two 400ex's and two 450r's and was amased that i managed to hold my own against them on my 300ex ....I coultend squeese a win but was neck and neck ....Unfortantily i was playing on the strip later in the afternoon and my 300 made some horrible noises and loked up [img]i/expressions/brokenheart.gif[/img]..oh well time to rebuild.....
