is there a way to tell from the engine serial number what year the engine was?
this is the number i got if someone could look in there clymer.
6107435
thats the number i found on the engine.

i asked the same question abtou my LT and the answer was no unless you have a book of serial numbers or somethin like that.

You will have to check with you local Honda dealer. Ask the service department for the numbers they have a book with everything listed. However, all that will tell you is what year your left side case is. It could have been replaced over the last 15 years.

what color is the engine, first off if it looks like its been all repainted, look in the exhaust or intake ports, 88-89 have a jug with different air direction ports where as the earlier models dont. just a thought if it helps

Are you shure that number is it? Were did you get it from? it should start with
TB06E-1------
or
TB06E-8------ (TB06E-seven numbers starting with "1" or "8")

the year is stamped on the bottom of the sleeve
