I need help finding a cheap 250x bottom end with the gears in it, cause my 3rd gear seems to be about shot. anyone help me out?

 

ebay has like 2-3 full good gear sets right now.

 

how much is cheap?and are you near N.C.?

 

I know nothing about spliting the cases other than it's a pita. How much would someone charge to replace the gears if you had them? Yes I am in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

 

cheap, ummm around 80 bucks is what i got right now lol. less than 200 i guess but i don't have it right now.

 

i have a 250x motor that locked up last may..but ive been hoping to rebuild it.

all the gears including reverse worked ,and the clutch was easy to pull but dintend slip
.
i accidently ran it out of oil before it locked up and it started making bad noises ..my freind was following me and stalled out when he got hung on a vine and it hasnt turned over since ..so I dont think its busted but I havent taken it apart to find out....

im guessing the top end seized (broke ring?) but the noises it was making means it may need crank shaft and or connecting rod berrings...it would be a gamble on weather or not the cases have to be split..but i feel that all the gears are good

 

it also needs a left side cover ,from where the chain rubbed a hole in it ...I guess i could pull the top end and check to see whats wrong and go from there ....I need to buy a piston kit and get a head fixed to get my other 300ex motor fixed..i could let the bottom end go for 150.00 i guess .(minus the topend and stator)..but id like to see what needs fixed first so you dont get a bad deal ..
