Default 400ex

My buddie just bought a new 08 400ex. he has had it about a month now. he has had to add oil to it everytime befor he rides and while riding he has to stop and check to keep from blowing it up?? His warranty is out cause he didnt buy and extended warrenty. Any ideas on what it could be. Like i said when he goes out to get it there is no oil spot under it. It must loose oil when its running. Got any ideas what it could be. Help me out. Thanks Alot

He needs to do a compression check. Does the bike smoke?

first off on a 400ex you need to start it up and get it warm before checking the oil because the oil hides somewhere.have you checked it when its warmed up all the way?have you seen any smoke from the exhaust any oil leaks???i bet if you havent your oil is way overfull.if he bought it new and only had it for a month its still under warrenty! let me know what you find
