Default 400ex top end questions

I have a 2004 400ex that has a head gasket leak in the front under the exhausts and i dont know wether it is the head studs or the gasket itself. Then today a bolt on the cam cover sheared off when i was checking for loose bolts, is the bolts on the cam cover the head studs or are the inside? anything else helps too, please advise...
p.s. why could it be seeping out of the gasket?and how musch would it take to fix it? and i have PICS on my profile so if that helps plz look!!!
also how can i get the broken bolt from the cam cover out?

The valve cover bolts are not the head bolts, those are inside.
The reason it is seeping out of the gasket is that you have a blown head gasket.
It's not that difficult to fix but pick yourself up a shop manual before you do it.
You will have to remove the head which entails removing the cam also.
Welcome to the connection.

The bolts on the cam cover are not made to be strongly torqued down. The threads in the head are very delicate. You should be just snugging them down. There is a torque spec but I don't remember what it is 7 something.
