im working on my buddies 07 trx450er.. the compression is a little bit low ....but it has no spark what could be causing no spark and how do i go about testing which ever part could be bad????

it used to run and if you killed it wouldnt start unless pull started it with another atv or something...

it got sunk in the river for short amount of time..

Do i need a peak voltage multimeter??? because everything in the service manual refers to that or will a regular multimeter work????

You're right I was wrong, no hot start button on the er models, sorry, my mistake. I have an '04 kicker and assumed all 450R's had the hot start.
So it is getting no spark?
Too bad you don't have another 450r anywhere around, you could switch out the cdi and see if that make a diffrence.
Check all the wiring connections for and corrosion that may have happened since it was in the water.
Was the dealer unable to get it running without pulling it, or did this symptom appear after getting it back from the dealer?
