welp i bought a 88 trx250R yesterday for $2900.oo bucks. i plan on doing a web page of the restoration. i rode her a couple times before i started stripping her apart. they had an suzuki expansion chamber welded to a honda head fitting so it would bolt up to the head. looks like crap. does anyone know if this is a secret way to make power she wasnt the worse condition but far from excellent condition also. so im taking her down and doing it all over. they where riding it with bad wheel bearings, bent a-arm. but being the sucker i am i looked at my wife and she gave me the OK to save her. i will let you know when i start my web page if you guys want to check on progress.

Congradulations evhwg! I'm happy you decided to restor an R that would've probably made its way to the junk heap if you didn't come along.

Just in case you haven't seen it or checked it out, there is a great forum just for the R.

Lots of very informed people who all know the R is the best machine ever. (No ego trips when it's the truth.)

Congrats on the purchase. Have fun with your restore.

last winter/spring/summer I completely rebuilt my 250R. Well worth it.

I see that you are also from CT. I had my frame/swingarm/a-arms powdercoated at Plas Tec Coatings (860) 289-6029. They are located in South Windsor CT. They did a blue base coat with a blue glitter clear coat for me. Came out great. Only charged me $250 for everything. Pretty much you can ppick any color you want and they were very helpful. They also had some pretty wild ideas to do. Silver or gold veins and stuff like that. Give them a call and tell them that Mike (describe my color scheme) sent ya.

Are planning on racing it this year in the MX series?

Have fun rebuilding it. Oh, did you know that a place near the MA/RI/CT border allows quads on Monday. Uxbridge or something like that.
