86 TRX200sx - what is it worth?
#1
I have intentions of selling my 86 TRX200sx 4 wheeler but don't have a clue what to ask for it. I know it is almost impossible without seeing it, but I am going to try and describe it to the best of my ability. Adult owned (I am 64), use it everyday around the ranch, good tires but have plugs and have "slimed" all 4 - hold air, no leak down, new brake shoes on the rear, front and rear brakes operate great, uses NO oil, headlight hi/lo works, starts right up w/o use of choke, bought new foam for the seat and recovered (does not look bad at all!), gas tank had rust holes & I put acid in it which did take all the rust out, plus spent many days shaking marbles in it, then put couple of coats of permenant gas tank sealer in it (red in color), let dry and it has not leaked a drop since, installed a new pet. **** & filter, installed an inline filter just for safety, the muffler had a small blow out and I patched it with JB Weld mixed with stainless steel brillo type material and worked fine, new rear brake cable, engine purrs like a kitten but when you want to go....wow does it have the power, new left side hand lever and reverse button, neutral light works as well as the reverse light, tail light burns, never wrecked and frame is straight, sync oil used and changed often, air filter washed out and oiled on a regular basis, the front fenders are not near perfect, they have some fiberglass work done just to keep them together, the rear plastic is above average, all the decals are gone. It has a luggage rack on the back and a small one on the front. I can send photos to anyone who might want a peek before they venture a guess on what I should ask for it. Might need an email address though? To my knowledge no work has been done to the engine, the previous owner was another senior citizen at our church and he assured me it was ridden very little and with great care. my Son is giving me a larger Yamaha Woolverine to use around here, thus I am going to sell the Honda. Tnx for taking time to read my posting. In Texas

I have the same bike in near perfect condition with under 100 hours on it. New tires, (old ones dry rotted), no plastic damage, everything is very, very nice. I can MAYBE get $1000 for it but more likely $800. So, I'd guess yours is worth $500, $600 tops.
