Default 03' 400ex

Ok, got a 03' 400ex was riding and my chain sliped and punched a hole in my left crank case cover.leaked all my oil but quad ran fine after it happened. let quad sit a few days. re filled with oil and it start/ran fine. so i ordered new cover. while switching out the covers i moved the flywheel and the ?starter gear? (the big gear directly behind the flywheel) now that i have it all back together, she dosnt want to start. any how to's on how to fix the timing or could possiably be something else ? was very delicate with the stator, no "extra parts" after putting it back together, didnt sever the pulsar wire.

any help/ideas would be great.

Thanks

If you are sure its not a wire, then how about the timing key. It is only pressed in and could have been knocked out.

Also check to see if you have no spark at all, or whether your timing is just way off

when you turn over a 400ex engine to align or check timing if you rotate the engine backwards it throws your decompression release inside the head all out of wack and it will have to be taken apart and realigned. its a big hassle too. i serviced one a while back and the guy i got it from rotated it backward and got it all crazy
